Store Hours (updated for Covid-19):
Tuesday-Wednesday…..10am-6pm, by appointment. This is a great time for those who are at higher risk to shop with fewer other customers in the store. We are trying to limit shoppers to 4 at a time on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Thursday-Friday…..10am-6pm, open shopping. Limit of 8 customers at a time during open shopping times, so we can all maintain better social distancing.
Saturday……9am-3pm, open shopping. Limit of 8 customers at a time during open shopping times, so we can all maintain better social distancing.

After years of dreaming and months of building renovation, we are so thrilled to now have a studio + store in downtown Spencer, IA! All of our product production now happens in this space. Kristen and the jewelry team work on the main floor, so there’s a good chance you’ll hear some hammering if you stop in on the right day. Eric and the letterpress team also work in this space, printing our greeting cards and art prints on our 1913 Chandler & Price letterpress machine.
As for the third Pressed product, we were so blessed to find a building with a full basement that was in great shape and just begging to be turned into a screen-print shop. With the opening of the studio+store, Eric got to upgrade all of his screen-printing equipment and set up a space that was better suited for growth than our home laundry room.
Part of the dream for this space, and a big reason why we kept pursuing a building downtown, is that we wanted to have a retail section in the front of the building. We wanted to have a place where customers can shop our product in-person, and they can talk to the people that made the items. Once this was established, the dreaming really started to happen. We wanted the store to look modern and fresh while still having a warmth that can only be found in a small town. We also wanted to celebrate the history of our building and save as many historical elements as we could. As we stripped the building down to its original build from 1919, we found original brick and barn wood and incorporated them into the design. Neither of us are interior designers and we love so many different decorating styles. In the end, we pulled inspiration from industrial, modern, rustic, and mid-century modern designs and the result is something we couldn’t be more excited about.
What else do we want you to know about this space? We also offer a curated assortment of other gift and women’s apparel items, each one carefully chosen with intention. We wanted to offer our community a store where they would be constantly inspired, surprised, and delighted. We also wanted to offer items that we think our world needs more of. So we narrowed our search to gift items that are either inspirational, hand-crafted, or give back to a good cause. We also made the tough decision to search after USA-made or ethically made fashion items. This is something that is still growing in awareness, so sourcing these items is difficult. But we are committed to the cause. We believe in the idea that the person who made our clothing should be paid a fair wage for their work, and we love the idea of filling our homes and closets with fewer things that have richer meaning behind them. Last but not least, we want to inspire you to think outside the box with new ways to wear screen-printed apparel. Whether this means we print on unconventional fabrics or we offer layering pieces to wear with our tees, we hope you are inspired by these fashion offerings.
We can’t wait to see you in this new space! Our hours are unique in that we needed to build time into our weekly schedule to design and make our products, as well as fill online orders and give our small team some days off. The end result is that we can be committed to you and your search for unique, meaningful goods.
With love and gratitude,
Eric and Kristen Meeter
